Ditch the Basics

Born in Charleston, SC, Red Collar was founded in 2024 by a group of individuals who settled around one simple concept. "Ditch the basics, and elevate your wardrobe." Our mission remains a simple one. Be the one stop shop for men willing to explore the finer side of men's clothing and helping you feel confident and at your best. One piece at a time. Sourcing from smaller brands that fit within our catalogue, the passion of these talented creators shine through their work and we're happy to share that. And we guarantee it'll pay off. We believe that every outfit is an opportunity to express yourself, or just feel cool and comfy in your own way.

Clothes shopping can be intimidating, especially if you aren't sure where to begin. When I first started being more conscious about my fashion choices, I was just coming out of college (embarrassing right) and entering a professional world. I never had a problem pairing some jeans and a basic tee. Buttttt it was when I was told by a friend of mine that Nike polos are in fact not dress wear when it became time to look in the mirror. Places like Nordstrom Rack, DSG and other larger department stores were decent places to start, but felt like throwing darts at a dartboard and seeing what stuck. I never became enthused about the idea of clothes shopping and often times would strike out on a trip to the mall. The journeys often felt daunting and would often end with empty trips. Oftentimes I set out to try and remedy the feeling, or at least tell myself "hey we tried."

A lot of time has passed since then.

Looking back, being swarmed with options never seemed to be the most helpful approach to clothes shopping. At Red Collar, we take a different approach. Our apparel and accessories are sourced from brands that we truly believe can elevate anyones wardrobe with minimal effort. The brands that we work with all share a passion for clothing, and it's brought to life through each and every one of their unique pieces. It can be easy to fall into a bad habit of throwing on whatever's easiest that day, and sometimes that's what it takes to get through the week. I've been there. But a routine like that can be dangerous when the days turn to weeks, and weeks to months. We urge each and everyone of our customers to treat apparel not as a chore, but a chance to step out into the world, the man you were meant to be. And to look good doing it.

And now we're able to bring Red Collar to life. We are so eager to share our mission with as many men as we can reach, and pass on the sentiment and importance of dressing like your best self.
